The 2165s do get difficult to manipulate in the lower register. My teacher once told me that if I really wanted to get comfortable with my cash register, I'd spend a whole summer with the old low regiester studies for bass tbone and tuba. I can't remember the composer's name, but its the one that everyone I've ever know worked out of before getting to the Rochut. Playing these simple melodies in the written octave and down an octave every day for an entire season really helps. My 6/4 holton is dandy in the pedals, but my old hirsbrunner was a little stuffy, and this book really helped. I guess it allways helps to get back to the fundamentals.

Anyone remember the name of this composer? It's been a while.
