Check out the new Andrew Litton/Dallas S.O. Mahler 3rd on the Delos label, which will "hit the streets" this coming tuesday (02/29). I've received a promo of it, and the entire orchestra (including tuba) plays phenomenonally. It's also superbly recorded. The Posthorn solo (trumpet) is played in a special antechamber designed especially for offstage wind and percussion parts - so it sounds as though the solo is coming from everywhere out in nature. All of the vocals are superb. The Texas Boy Choir might be the best on earth (?). Anyway - check it out, as it's priced two discs for the price of one! They also have a terrific Mahler Resurrection recording already available.
