Hey, I would like to state that I had soldering coming loose within two weeks of purchase on my 861. I am not saying that this is a frequent problem with Yamaha tubas, just a personal experience that I had. I've previously stated that I am content with this horn. I have no complaints about the construction of my Yamaha F tuba. I think this may have been an isolated problem on my (I should say my school of music's) 861.
I still believe that there are better horns out there for $8,000, but regardless, the YCB-861 is a horn that you can't really go wrong with. Perhaps it's just my personal taste.
