I would strongly recommend an unaccompanied solo... especially for a tape. If you play a solo for a tape that has an accompaniment, then get a pianist! The discriminatinf factor used to be whether or not one used good recording equipment and a high quality tape. All that is eaasy to find now, so now the discriminator is whether or not you shell out the cabbage to get an accompanist. I say stay out of the fray and play an unaccompanied work if you can find one that suits you.
