Dear X IU student:

I've known Dan Perantoni for years. He in fact does NOT require his students to buy a Perantucci line horn. He encourages purchasing a quality instrument, which the Perantucci line is, but I know for a fact that there is a slew of different makes of horns in his studio. Everything from Miraphone to Perantucci to Hirsbrunner to Meinl-Weston to Yamaha, just to name a few. Again I will reiterate, Dan Perantoni, does not REQUIRE his students to purchase a Perantucci line horn. He in fact really doesn't care what you play, as long as it sounds good, works for the player and is a quality horn, i.e. good intonation, response and resonance.
