I was wondering if anyone could offer an explanation as to the purpose of a non-compensating TUBA. In a regional band I play in I am using the instrument they supplie which happens to be a non-compensating EEb Besson International and it seens anything below an A (below the stave) sounds a semi-tone sharp and you have to play a semi-tone lower than what is written. Unfortunately the section principle has not realised this so he sounds out of tune with the rest of us but I dare not tell and he would not listen anyway. Does anyone else have this problem with the International or other non-copensating?
