I don't think you guys are talking about the same horn. The original post mentioned a horn with "front action" valves but the Eb you're talking about is a top action horn. And I agree with you, the top action Yamaha Eb, with the 5th rotor mounted inside the 4th valve slide, is an entry level horn. It was my first Eb and it works great for some things but on the job it had too many limitations and I ended up selling mine shortly after I arrived here. I never liked that kind of 5th valve, I think it is a pretty bad idea and it isn't nearly as useful as a standard 5th valve. I'd be curious about a front action Yamaha Eb though, especially if it is like the YFB621. Maybe someone can post some info on this horn...
