I couldn't agree more. The teacher's job is to get the best from the student and it's clear that people learn more easily in a positive atmosphere. That doesn't mean that they shouldn't be told when they are doing something wrong, but they need to be shown/told what is the right. I tell a student that "abc" is good but , "xyz" is bad, and here is how to fix it. If this is done more like an observation, a la Zen In The Art Of Archery, and less like a judgment it is much more effective.
