Richard Murrow, tuba instructor at Texas Christian University, is the tubist with DJO. Although Richard is capable of soloing, there isn't usually a tuba solo in DJO performances but many of the charts use tuba and there are a some really fine parts for Richard in the book.
This isn't strictly tuba related, however it is a performaning outlet that a tubist should look at, if big bands are an interest.
