I remember a few years back when my teacher, David Kirk, made me put finger prints on the bell part next to the mouthpiece on my unlaquered Alexander to keep me from looking at myself while I played. Even now when I polish it I will not polish that part. And the reason I did it was because of what Sean just said, "Sound?". Listen to what is coming out of the bell.
