Yamaha was excited to have a model at Mid-West in December of last year. But the model still had some bugs. The pickup in the mute was not functioning properly and the tuba became very top-heavy with the mute inserted. These may be some of the issues facing a final release, and this info is dated a couple of months. Hopefully Yamaha has addressed these problems before production begins. As far as a date, Brasswind may know or another dealer may be in the know. Someone also mentioned a price tag of $400. Don't know if this is correct either. Hope this second-hand info helps.
