Easy. Walt Johnson Cases. They have a lifetime warranty which is well honored by the Johnson family, can actually fit in a car, provide great protection, and don't cost that much more than a standard case. Johnson cases for a 4/4 Hirsbrunner run about $730. Larger horns cases may cost $800 or so.

I have had 2 Johnson cases torn up by airlines with no damage to the tuba. Both times, the Johnsons did most of the leg work for me in working with the airlines to get the cases either fixed or replaced, without charge.
