I have both. The K & M is heaver, stronger, and much more adjustable. The leg height and the riser tube both adjust. So you can really lower it down by spreading the legs out to the extreme.

I use mine on a big old heavy Conn 20J. Works great. Note that you will want to stuff the hole in the center of the pad with paper towel to keep moisture from valves and spit valves out. Otherwise you wind up getting valve oil on the tube, and then find your horn slip, slip, slipping away!

Hard to get back into using a stand. Ever try playing a BIG horn like a 20J without one? I could back in my college days when the horn and I could both sit on the chair. The horn is still the same size, but, sadly, I am not.

The 2xJ series Conn works especially well because the tuning bit gives you a bit of extra adjustment so the actual height you set the stand is not as critical.
