We have a few gigs that suffer from chronic mass-illness as well.

BTW - I failed to mention that in my town, the Opera is a freelance gig that uses "Reduced Instrumentation" scores for just about everything. That means they NEVER use tuba (or many other things). They just use the bastardized, lets-kill-the-chops-of-our-winds-and-brass reductions that use two trombones for Tosca and one for most other things. Ugh . . .

The only reason, I suspect, that I was hired to play Rigoletto was to prevent having a bone whacking those downbeats in La Donna e Mobile . . .
