You folks that don't know anything about copyright laws, do some homework. Copyright protection is heavily slanted toward publication and recording companies. These companies continue to receive royalties long after the composer is deader than a doornail. There's very little there to protect the original artist unless he is shrewd enough to get everything in writing up front.
