Also, the "wing-tip" collar was designed to be worn only with white tie. You should not see the black strap around your neck with a black tie... wear a full collar. Of course, the formal wear store will gladly sell you the wrong shirt with your tuxedo.
(By the way, Joe, I wear a real bow-tie everyday!)
