I started with a 24 aw. played it for 3 years. Someone gave me an 18 and I began to wonder how I ever learned with that piece of junk. Then my shop got a lathe and tried to turn a mouthpiece. I copied the cup, throat, and backbore of the 18, made a sharp rim like a Helleberg, left the rim real wide, and left more brass on it then a Megatone. Perfect mouthpiece. But I might try the 24aw again just to see what it sounds like.
Now I get to make the perfect Eb mouthpiece.
