If possible, find an old Pan American (Conn) 3/4 E flat tuba , approx. .610 bore(not the later Conn E flat tubas of the Fifties and Sixties). I used to have one, it had a great tone, full low register, and I must say it felt like playing a large euphonium. Unfortunately, it didn't have a 4th valve (as far as I know, they were not manufactured that way).
