I just purchased a BBflat King 2341 in brass lacquer, from Matt Walters at Dillons Music. Love it!! Awesome horn for the price. Matt, thanks again for all of your patience and help in the selection process!!! This horn is a joy!

Here are some tuba dimensions.

KING 2341 new, "compact" 4/4 model, attached bell, 4 piston valves
Height - 33" (Just measured it at home)
Bell - 20"
Leadpipe height - 22-1/8"
Bore - .687"
I am 5'-7" tall. The King rests comfortably on my legs and presents the mouthpiece without any stretching up or reaching down.

CONN 52J, 54J or 56J. "compact" 4/4 model, attached bell, 4 pistons + 5th rotor valve.
Height - 33"
Bell - 52J - 18", 54J & 56J - 20"
Leadpipe height - 22-1/8"
Bore - .687, .734" (18.65mm) 4th valve, .750" (19.05mm) flat wholestep fifth rotor valve"
NOTE: At UMI, the KING compact chassis begins life as a CONN 5xJ (or vice-versa) then gets the small bore 4 valve group in BBb and "KING" name stamp. The CONNs are the exact same bell, bottom bow, branches 1-2 and leadpipe, then shorter CC branches 3-5 and the 5 valve group. Tried the 54J (brass lacquer), also a nice playing horn!!

Miraphone 1291. Compact 5/4 model, 4 piston + 5th rotor valve
Height - 36"
Bell - 18.5" (47 cm)
Leadpipe height - 24 to 24.5"
Bore - .835"
The 1291 leadpipe was a full 2 inches "taller" than my King. I had to rest the botton bow on the chair to reach the mouthpiece comfortably.
Big dark resonant sound. Fun to play. The King was a better fit for me.

VMI 3302 in BBb, 4 piston + 5th rotor valve
Height - 36-37"
Bell - 18.5" (47 cm)
Leadpipe height - 24 to 24.5"
Bore - .748" - .827" graduated large bore.
