I have tried a lot of lubricants in the last 25 years, and my pick is Hetman lubricants.
1) They are non-toxic synthetic, 2) They are extremely stable, 3) They are available in 22 different viscosities, so the right "feel" is always available for any horn, 4) They contain corrosion inhibitors as well as viscosity stabilizers, so the horns stays lubricated better and cleaner, too, 5) The Hetman lubricants are compatible with standard hydrocarbon oils, so if you borrow some "Brand X" from someone at a rehearsal or concert, your valves will not turn to mush, and 6) Hetman lubricants do not require a special cleaning solvent like some other synthetics, and do not contain silicone or anything else that will build up on the valves.

I know of no other lubricants that can match this list.
