It's the naive, uninformed bargain hunters that keep those shylock importers in business. As far as returning the instrument for a refund, I doubt if that is possible. Most Ebay deals that I have done specifically state no returns. What you might consider is writing a letter to go to every parent at the beginning of the year explaining the problems with these Asian knock-offs. Not all of them would heed the warning of course, but your advise would be on record. Include a list of brands that would be OK as a previous post suggested. Encourage them to consult with you before making a purchase. At this point, I'd suggest you avoid telling them that they have a piece of unserviceable junk. Let the repairman tell them when they take it in to be repaired.
