Most jazz players like something no bigger than a Schilke 59. The 58 and 59 usually give more center and less depth. Most tuba players who doulble like the 60. Of course, the Bach 1 1/2 is a standard for bass trombonist.
I was a 60 fan until I started using Doug Elliott mouthpieces. I can switch from one set-up to another depending upon the job. More money, but i like the professional service given when I can sit down and let Mr. Elliott listen to me play and then suggest options.
