Well actually I think I have been in Edmunton. The IHS conference was in Banff four or five years ago, and four of us went on a week-long sightseeing trip by car afterwards. We went from Banff to Jasper and beyond and back, in the 2nd week of June. We had a grand time!
BTW...in my neck of the woods, (um, desert) the humidity is usually in the single digits, so the dryness would be no stranger. I'm always surprised when I visit other, more humid areas of the country, that I am always a bit damp. Our summers correspond to your winters in terms of cabin fever, with only the very hardy spending time outside in 110 degree temps, intense sun radiation, and 4% humidity. The more sane stay inside in the shade and air conditioning, and venture out after sundown, when it is often still over 100 degrees even at 10 PM. We drink lots of water.
