An orchestral player I know play-tested a goldbrass 6v. version in both the smaller hall and large hall for a panel of his colleagues, when in the process of buying a new F this year. He said that the Mirafone F sounded warm and full in the small hall. Because of the huge bore and extreme sensitivity of the instrument, he said the pitch was hard to stabilize. Also, in the large hall and at higher volumes, the instrument started sounding rather bright. He told me that, to his colleagues, it sounded like he was playing with a bright sound and having intonation troubles. He did not get the Mirafone.
