Another possibility you might want to look for are the 3-valve compensators from Besson. At least two other contributors to this list, Mark Finley and Rick Denney, own such instruments. I've played Mark's, and it's really nice. They can be had for less than $1000, and are (theoretically, at least) the best in-tune instrument you can get down to low E, but of course they stop there. Since euph parts seldom venture so low, when I go euph hunting this is the instrument I'll be looking for.
