I had mine out in July. All 4 of mine were deeply impacted and one had a large cyst on it. I was doing pretty good after about a week then I was eating a some cereal and had a loud pop in my mouth. I had 2 dry sockets and some TMJ. It was the most painful thing I have been through. It took about 4 weeks for me to be able to survive without any pain medicine.

With that said I would still suggegt having them out if they are impacted because they will only get worse. I am 29 and it could have been a lot worse if I waited. The one thing that I was so worried about was the numbness but I don't have any. I am pretty much healed now except for one hole but it's closing quick now. I would ask the dentist and also look at the x-ray and see if your roots have grown into the nerve at all. That's where you run into problems. If they have not then you should be fine.

Just find a great oral surgeon. I had a wonderful one and don't falt him a bit.
