The software behind TubeNet never will search for numbers, and right now it will return any request with something to the effect of "Malformed inquest". But TubeNet hardly is at fault on that point. It more has the nature of a system problem at the server level.
The drawbacks with the Yahoo groups search are these two:
it only covers the time 2 years back, as the yahoo version of TubeNet was not introduced until then.
the Yahoo search only covers the archive in increments of about 5000 postings, so if you go for early postings, you will have to hit the "Next" button a few times.
