Does anyone know anything about the "stencil maker"/wholesale instrument seller M.J. Kalashen? I understand the company was based in New York from the turn of the century until the 30's or so. My first tuba was a Kalashen "klassic" sousaphone - presumably made by Conn. I understand Kalashen got horns from a number of manufacturers including european ones. I have now picked up a couple of old Kalashens for sentimental reasons. I am looking for more info on this "off-brand" and figure they may be some experts out there to point me in the right direction or answer some questions.
