Many "Edward's" trombones that I've seen are crap:

- flat spots in bell flairs straight from the factory
- tuning slides aligned so poorly that when pushed in all the way cause the Thayer valves to stick
- ends of inner slide tubes (stocking end) rounded inward from being hastily cut
- main tuning slides that are too tight on one size and horribly loose on the other
- do I need to mention the use of chrome-nickel plated brass (like Bundy) - rather than solid nickel silver - on the inside playing slide hand hardware?

"Edwards" is a brand name invented by Ed Getzen that tried to bring in the name of Edward Getzen and to possibly hint back at Edward Thayer.

How many Edwards trombones would be sold today were they not equipped with Thayer valves?
