Hello there. I am also in the Army. I also play the tuba, although not in the Army band. I had my wisdom teeth extracted a few months ago, and although mine weren't impacted, I was playing with no problems about a week later. Also, as far as yur dentist "ordering you" to get your teeth removed.. there is no such thing. If you feel it will be detrimental to you to have them removed, don't do it. The worst that will happen is that they will separate you from the Army, which would NOT be a horrible loss for you.
