I've use Greyhound several times. The good things about their service is that you can be fairly certain that nothing will be stacked on top of your package since the baggage space is not very tall, they can tell you reasonably closely when it will arrive on the other end, and they handle oversize packages as long as they will fit in the luggage compartments under the busses. Their freight is alway on a space-available basis and is not trackable. Depending on where the package is going, it may be loaded and unload a couple of times. If you give them a phone number, they will call the recipient on the other end when the package arrives. The last sousa (a LARGE box) I sent Greyhound left Evansville, Indiana... was transferred in Memphis, and arrived in Phoenix one day and seventeen hours later. The cost was $37. The bad thing is that their shipments are only insured for $300 and they do not sell additional insurance. You might check with your own insurance agent prior to shipping an expensive horn.
