If the original poster didn't like the MW because it is too big I doubt very much that he'll like the Yamaha 822. The Yamaha 822 is a smallish CC in F tuba clothing, more so than the 45SLP. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but it's not what I look for in an F.
As for the original poster, it's tough to go too much smaller than the MW without going to something like a Yamaha 621 or MW 182. I've never played either of these, but you should look at a PT-10 or 15. Dale Phelps also has an Alexander that might suit your needs.
