I second Scott's recommendation with the Yamaha 822 F-tuba. But for quintet use and solo work specifically, I think that the Yamaha 621 (3/4) F-tuba might work even better for you if you're having problems overpowering the ensemble. This is the F-tuba version of the little Yamaha 621 CC that Charles Daellenbach used for years in the Canadian Brass, and I know that John Manning of the Atlantic Brass Quintet use to use it as his main horn in the group (and he still may). Roger Bobo also has used the 621 F quite a bit in his solo work.
The 621 has a great sound. It almost has the warmth and presence of a CC tuba, but with the volume turned down. It can get really big without getting bright- much more than most bigger F's. On top of that, the low range is as consistent and open as many CC tubas. There are none of the usual F-tuba low-range problems. Good luck!
