Winston Morris used to have many of his students buy these from him. Some that might be found for sale today (who knows about the detachable bell one for sale) were formerly owned by Tennessee Tech students.
I would compare the Mirafone 185 to the Rudy Meinl ("big") 3/4 (that to me is better described as "7/8"). The Mirafone 185 doesn't have the intonation problems of the RM 3/4, but then again perhaps the RM 3/4 has a bit prettier sound.
