This is absolutely true. The only reason Warren was a "freshman" when he left UM is because he blew off the peripheral courses involved in the Michigan performance degree (the same school I received my B.Mus. from) and focused only on the playing related courses. The only reason Warren left UM was to take the job he had just won with the Houston Symphony.
