I have also had a piston PT-6 for about a year, now. Although I used the PT-88 for a while, ultimately I found that my playing in general improved when I moved to somewhat smaller mouthpieces. In particular my control and endurance in the higher range are improved. Having tried a number of the Perantucci mouthpieces, I find that I am happier with a sharper rim that these mouthpieces use. Most recently I have been back on my old Conn Helleberg (the larger one). For me the intonation has not really been a problem in this register. The C-sharp is okay, the D and open E are good, and the 2/3 e-flat works well, especially with the good access to the third valve slide that this horn has. The biggest question mark that I have for pirtch on this horn is on the low D, which tends to be either too low or too high
