There are several devices that one can use to hold the tuba. I have two, each with it's own stong and weak points. The Meinl Weston harness is very nice for jobs where you want to stand and walk. It had a 2 point hook-up, a large hook for the ring on the bottom bow and a snap hook for the top ring. You have to provide a small amount of hand control, but the weight is supported by the shoulder straps. It does get a bit much on the shoulders after awhile. The other is a DEG support stand. This is just a tripod with height adjustment for the padded plate that the bow is rested on. It does a beautiful job of supporting all of the weight, but you more hand control is needed. Great for a sit down concert, not so great for moving.
