Why bother with threading at all? Just hack the shank off a junker mouthpiece and epoxy it into your wooden prototype. At least that's what I'd do if I were only at the "curiosity" stage of things. If I were convinced that a wooden mouthpiece was a good thing, I might spend some time checking out the Bertefa (sp?) wooden models.
