In the brass world the layout of the three first valves is following a quite standard pattern, with the ascending French third valve representing a well known exeption.
This (other) morning I found something, that I never saw before. There are no signs, that the valve slides should have been mounted wrongly.
This instrument, that can be seen through the link, of course never was a tuba, as it is called. It simply is an alto horn.
