i think i have a great solution to both the problems. when i bought my st pete i discovered somthing slightly embarasing...i'm allergic to nickle so i cant touch my horn. i can use my hands because they're tough but my arms used to break out like crazy. i decided to make myself a guard and instead of using leather(because i didn't have any leather lying around) i used an old neoprene knee brace. i just cut it so that it wasn't absurdly large and then i slid it around the bell where my arm would be touching. the neoprene doesn't have any lanolin or whatever causes tarnish and it soaks up sweat pretty evenly and you can just wash it in the washing machine and put it back on. you can find these braces for under 10 dollars at places like wal mart or at sporting goods stores. they work and it looks a lot better to have black and silver than brown leather and silver at a concert.
