Hello all!

I have a Marzan BBb tuba for sale.

This tuba was made by Boehm-Meinl in the early 70's. It is in remarkable condition considering it's almost thirty years old. Most of the original lacquer is still in great condition. There have only been minor repairs done on this horn, including re-attaching a water key and one of the metal plate screw receivers on the bell.

This tuba is a versatile instrument that plays very well. I have played in quintets, in orchestras, in bands, as well as some pretty demanding solo literature, including works by Gregson, Hindemith, Pryor, and Persichetti. I have even played this tuba a couple of times in my dixieland band!

It has four rotary valves, a detachable bell, accessible main tuning slide while playing, and stringed rotary valves. There are a few dents in various places on the horn, however, all of them are quite small.

Also included is a custom-fit Altieri gig bag, a hard case, and a Marzan mouthpiece. From what I understand, there aren't too many of these mouthpieces around anymore. I am asking between $5,000 and $6,000/offer. Thanks for all your interest.

Matt Boucher

(All items except hard case located in Cedar Falls, IA. Hard case is in Massachusetts. E-mail me for pictures!)
