I recently tried out a new King 2341 from Dillon's and a VMI 3301 from Brasswind. Both horns were fine BBb tubas, and I wanted to send out a public note that both of the stores' tuba specialists were quite helpful, making the tuba evaluation process as painless as possible -- even after deciding that by comparison I wanted to bite the bullet and switch to a CC horn (yet to be selected). Thanks to Matt and Mike!
BTW, for me and those listening, both of the above-mentioned horns received universally good comments. And, for anyone looking for a new King in lacquer, the intonation of this particular model was very good.
