You mention the "low C". My older MW 46 F six-valver has a difficult low C, and I understand this is common with F tubas. I have two questions: 1) What are the reasons for the difficult low notes on F tubas; and, 2) Is there a new F tuba that has clear notes in the usual problem range (i.e., around low C)?
By the way, I am a fan of Cerveny tubas, both new and old. Particularly, the Cerveny CC 601-5MR.
