That's a very straight-to-the-point set of Grade Related Descriptors, Dave!

They are well suited to assessments of one's own students: I will have to think about how they would apply when assessing other teacher's students (esp. the comments for "F").

I'd like to think all D students are embarrassed, but some are just plain oblivious!

There are also kids who get a grade of F who HAVE practiced (perhaps very poorly), shown up, tried hard, etc. This is where the comment "hasn't reached an acceptable standard" comes in.

Having said that, I can see a real value in these descriptors...leaves no room for doubt: thanks for the info,
