Some of that feel I think comes from the guage of the brass used and the amount of bracing soldered onto the horn at key spots. I remember playing a friend's Czerveny piggy a few years back and marveling at the quick reponse it got. I also noticed how thin the brass was and how light the horn weighed. My B&H is built more like a tank with very heavy guage brass and many braces and brackets and you don't feel the vibration in your hands as much but yet the sound coming out the bell is very full. I noticed this on a student's MW 2145. It is a very unforgiving horn from a sound and feel stand point. Conn 5Js are the same way. Very "stiff"
