Mark gave you some great advice and good ideas on tubas.

the rotors will be easier for her on her hand and hand strength does not have to be so good for rotors and with the larger pistons these days, they are a little stiffer and heavier. The rotors these days are fast and it is just a leading problem in piston versus rotors to make it cleaner. The piston is slightly cleaner on faster runs. She will know what she likes when she tries them out.

the big deal is what is their budget and that will give you an idea of what they can afford. the PT20P is also good but pricy and better if you can find a used one. just go play. Matt is great about making older tubas play great, he has the gift.

the 2155 is good too, leadpipe is a little high for shorter people or small upper torso people. the MW2000 is kick but very pricy. Same problem with the leadpipe since all it is is a silver plated handmade 2000.

I personally like the 188 and the 56J conns. They are hard to beat for an all-around great tuba.

Check around on new prices at all the stores. Sales are going on right now.

Good luck
