I'd only consider a big Eb or a big F as my single all-around tuba. I've only played the YFB-822 for a single test drive, several years back. I don't remember how it sounded. But the Willson Eb (read: $$$$$$$), seems to provide a very nice upper register and a very open, full low register. Except for some challenging fingerings when playing in multiple sharp keys, I'd think the Willson Eb would be about the only GOOD choice for a single horn. It's low register is significantly darker and more free blowing than my Besson 983 Eb.
