Being primarily a trombone player, you may feel more comfortable on a Helleberg 7B which is the smaller of the two Conn Hellegergs. It will definitely be easier to focus your sound with the 7B versus the 18. Even the regular Conn Helleberg will be a bit easier for you since the bowl is not quite as large as the 18. The Conn Hellebergs have a sharp inner rim edge which some people like and others hate, so you may have to try them to see what you think. I have never played the Schilke Hellebergs but I understand they have a similar cup to the Conns with a rounder rim on them.
