I had a lot of trouble with most tuba mouthpieces due to the large rim area. I play bass bone and I am used to very small rims. I tried a Doug Elliott tuba mouthpiece and I can now swith between the two with very little problems. The Elliott mouthpieces have very small rims. I suspect any tuba mouthpiece with a small rim would have worked for me.
