I have considered going over simply to experience the "intensity" of the true British brass band movement. Now that I've advanced / "grown up" a little, there are more considerations to my reasonings for going or not. I would have to find a really good teacher over there, (I'm sure there are plenty), and I would have to win a spot with a really good band, (again, of which there are plenty.) At this point, I have a really good teacher here, and I don't think I will interrupt grad study to travel. In the future, however, I would definitely consider again...
Also, brass banding is (from what I've studied) very much male-dominated, which could make things difficult for me personally.
